Nedeljkovic weighs in on Browns

Shortly after the Penguins took the ice for practice Monday, news broke that Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett had requested a trade from the team.

Garrett, 29, a four-time first-team All-Pro selection and the 2023 Defensive Player of the Year, was the first overall draft pick in 2017 and has played his entire eight-year career with Cleveland.

While he had to wait roughly an hour until the Penguins completed practice to be in a position to learn of the news, Browns superfan Alex Nedeljkovic, a native of Parma, Ohio, did find out soon enough.

“Tough one. Cornerstone piece, one of the best, if not the best defensive player in the game right now,” Nedeljkovic said of Garrett. “That’s tough. But I respect it though — he’s a winner and the guy wants to win. … Kind of stings seeing if he’s not going to be around, it doesn’t really sound like the organization’s headed the right way in terms of going for a Super Bowl.”

Nedeljkovic owns a Garrett jersey, going as far as to wear it proudly while conducting a postgame interview at PPG Paints Arena after the Browns beat the Steelers in November of 2023.
