Route 30 east in Unity and Ligonier townships was closed for several hours Thursday after two people were hurt in a one-vehicle crash, according to state police.
The crash was reported around 10 a.m. near Kingston Dam. State Trooper Steve Limani said a Mercedes SUV went off the highway, hit a tree and rolled over.
The two occupants in the SUV were extricated by firefighters and taken to a hospital for treatment. Limani said the driver may have had a medical emergency just before the crash.
A stretch of the eastbound highway between the intersections with Routes 982 and 259 remained closed around 2 p.m., according to 511PA. Limani said some trees still needed to be cut down and the road likely would remain closed for another couple hours.
