A Pittsburgh icon, electronic music pioneers and an enigmatic rapper are among the top concerts coming to the region in March:

Top concerts

March 1 and 15: Donnie Iris and the Cruisers at the Palace Theatre

Pittsburgh rock luminary Donnie Iris will hit the stage at the Palace Theatre in Greensburg for a pair of shows over the course of three weekends.

Known for songs like “Ah! Leah!” and “Love is Like a Rock,” Iris and the Cruiser will play both nights, with Joe Grushecky and the House Rockers opening on March 15.

Iris, who will turn 82 on Feb. 28, returned to playing concerts last year after battling cancer.

“I guess I just learned, like everybody else probably was, that life is fragile, and I’m not immune to it. Nobody is,” he told TribLive in an interview last year. “And that’s the realization that I came to, and thank goodness for my doctors, the care that I got and all that. It just buoyed me up. It really did.”

March 7: Kraftwerk at Stage AE

German electronic music pioneers Kraftwerk are marking the 50th anniversary of their landmark album “Autobahn” with their Multimedia Tour 2025 — 50 Years of Autobahn.

The Pittsburgh concert will be the group’s first show here since 1975, when they played the New Leona Theater in Homestead, according to setlist.fm. The highly influential band will be releasing three new versions of the “Autobahn” album on March 7.

“The Düsseldorf band are responsible for paving the way for the synthesizer, popularizing stripped-back electronic sounds and, constantly exploring the relationship between humans and technology,” Andy Jones writes on musicradar.com, “showing us that we can all make tunes with machines, no matter our musical background — or lack of it.”

March 28: Tyler the Creator, Lil Yachty, Paris Texas at PPG Paints Arena

Tyler, the Creator’s Chromakopia world tour stop in Pittsburgh is all but sold out for the rapper’s first show in Pittsburgh since a 2019 stop at Stage AE.

His latest album, “Chromakopia,” dropped on Oct. 28 and debuted at the top of the Billboard 200 charts.

“I’m not who they were introduced to at 20. I’m not even who I was a year ago,” Tyler told billboard.com in a 2024 interview. “When they’re like, ‘I want the old version,’ I know it’s because they’re still there. But I’m not. And I’m OK with it because my identity doesn’t rest in a version of myself.”
