Pittsburgh Penguins goaltender Alex Nedeljkovic is scheduled to start Saturday’s game against the Boston Bruins at PPG Paints Arena.
Coach Mike Sullivan announced Nedeljkovic’s status approximately two hours before the opening faceoff.
In 30 games this season, Nedeljkovic has a 12-11-5 record, a 3.22 goals against average, an .891 save percentage and one shutout.
In his most recent game, Nedeljkovic erupted in anger when he was pulled after allowing three goals on 14 shots during a 5-4 home overtime win against the Philadelphia Flyers on Thursday. Nedeljkovic broke his stick over the net, slammed the door to the home bench and yelled at teammates upon his departure.
Nedeljkovic furious he’s getting pulled with a *checks notes* .800SV% in this game ????

Rookie Joel Blomqvist replaced Nedeljkovic and made 22 saves on 23 shots to earn the victory.
Throughout his career, Nedeljkovic has played the Bruins in six games and has a 3-2-0 record, a 3.99 goals against average and an .888 save percentage.
With the Penguins hosting the Toronto Maple Leafs on Sunday, Blomqvist will likely start that contest.
