The Westmoreland Food Bank is hosting its annual Empty Bowl fundraiser on April 6 at Hempfield Area High School.

Community members will be able to purchase food provided by local businesses and take home a ceramic bowl made by a student at one of several Westmoreland County schools. All proceeds will support the food bank.

Handmade ceramic bowls to be sold at the event will be accepted until March 24. Local businesses interested in donating food and those who want to sponsor a raffle basket can email emptybowlwestmoreland@gmail.com.

The event will run from noon to 4 p.m. in the cafeteria of Hempfield Area High School, located at 4345 Route 136 in Hempfield. Admission is $20 and includes a ceramic bowl, soup and bread. A basket raffle, 50/50 drawing and auction will also take place.

High school students and local musicians Detention and Brothers Kelly will provide entertainment.

To register or make a donation, visit the Westmoreland Food Bank Facebook page.
