Skeet-shooting club fundraiser

The newly formed Gateway Skeet Club will host an April 10 fundraiser at the Trafford Sportsmen’s Club.

Each team member will break clay targets for a cash donation from sponsors, and will be scored on 50 targets.

Proceeds will go toward the team’s field costs, safety gear and uniforms as they prepare for their first meet of the season on April 13.

Believer’s Bingo

Monroeville Church of the Brethren will hold an all-ages “Believer’s Bingo” from 6-8 p.m. the first Thursday of every month starting April 3.

Cost is $7 per card, with a variety of prizes. Cards can be purchased online at the donations page of monroevillecob.com or with cash at the door.

Workshop to explore backyard composting

Churchill is hosting a backyard composting workshop from 6 to 7:30 p.m. April 23 at the Churchill Municipal Building, 2300 William Penn Highway.

The workshop itself is free and open to residents from the surrounding area. If registrants choose to purchase a compost bin, the cost is $50. The bin has an 82-gallon capacity and is ideal for urban and suburban areas.

It will cover the importance and benefits of composting and reducing food waste, the process, how to set up a compost pile, proper maintenance and ways of using finished compost.

Electric car club show

Three Rivers EVA, an electric car club, will mark Drive Electric Earth Month in April with a car show from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 19.

It will be in the parking lot at First Presbyterian Church, 3202 North Hills Road, Murrysville.

Boyce Park pet walk will benefit rescues

The Wildflower Pet Walk, formerly the Friends of Jupiter Pet Walk, will be held April 27 at the Tanglewood Shelter on Pierson Run Road at Boyce Park in Plum and Monroeville.

The event starts at 9 a.m., with the walk beginning at 10 a.m., and will take place rain or shine. It includes a 1-mile walk, basket raffle, pet vendors, pet photos, food truck and local rescues. New dog and cat items will be collected for rescues.

Walk participants must register and sign a release. People may walk with or without a pet. All dogs must be leashed, licensed and vaccinated, and be people and dog friendly.

Proceeds benefit local rescues including Wildflowers Sanctuary, East Coast Bulldog Rescue, Homeless Cat Management Team and Bridges from Kuwait.

A free community Easter dinner will be held from 12:30-3 p.m. April 20 in the Lourdes Center of Christ the Divine Shepherd Parish, 245 Azalea Drive, Monroeville.

‘A Taste of Spring’

Monroeville Rotary is hosting a food and wine tasting fundraiser from 5:30-8:30 p.m. April 10 at Events on Ten, 4099 William Penn Highway in the Jonnet Building.

All proceeds will benefits programs to fight hunger in the Monroeville community. Different levels of sponsorship are available, which includes guest entrance and prominent event signage.

The Rotary also is seeking raffle baskets and donations. Checks should be made payable to “Rotary Club of Monroeville” and can be mailed to 310 Drexel Drive, Monroeville.

Night market seeking vendors

Vendors, crafters and food trucks are wanted for the Pitcairn Night Market, which is being held from 6-9 p.m. April 25 at Broadway street from Dan’s Floral to Dick’s Sports Bar.

The free, all-ages event is open to the public, with the aim of promoting small businesses in a family-friendly environment.

Egg hunt, car show in Pitcairn

The Head Turners Pittsburgh Car Club will host a car show and free children’s egg hunt on April 12 at the Pitcairn Fire Department.

The car show will be from 12-4 p.m., and the egg hunt will be at noon. Car registration begins at 11 a.m.; the cost for registration is $10. The Easter bunny will be available for photos. Proceeds will benefit the fire company.

The fire department is at 100 S. Center Ave. In the event of rain, the event will be moved to April 19.

30th annual Jack Sedlak cleanup day

The 30th anniversary of the Jack Sedlak Memorial Cleanup Day will take place from 9-11 a.m. April 26 across Monroeville, and the group is seeking volunteers to help get trash off the streets.

Groups of volunteers can register and choose a road, park of neighborhood to focus on. Cleanup supplies will be provided by PennDOT and the municipality. Those who register will receive a free 2025 cleanup day T-shirt.

Vendors sought for makers market

Divine Mercy Academy is seeking vendors for its Spring Makers Market, planned from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on April 26.

Vendor fee is $50 and includes one 8 foot table and two chairs. Vendors are asked to provide one raffle donation.

The maker’s market will be open to the public, and there is no charge for shoppers. Advertising for the event is done via social media, websites, yard signs and the school and church.

Applications will be processed on a first-come, first-serve basis. Items should be handmade products, food and baked goods only.

All vendors will be set up at the Lourdes Center, 245 Azalea Drive.

April meeting slated for Plum AARP

Plum AARP will hold its next meeting at noon April 8 at Unity Community Church.

Participants are encouraged to bring their favorite games as part of the program. Members may purchase tickets for $25 for the May luncheon, which will be May 13 at Jadens’ II.

As a fundraiser, three slices of pizza will be sold for $5.

Each AARP meeting features either a speaker or entertainment, and free cake and coffee/tea. Twice a year, the club offers hot dogs with condiments, chips and cake and coffee for $3. Dues are $15 per year.

Gateway Class of ‘75 reunion set

A 50-year reunion is planned for Gateway Senior High School’s class of 1975. It will be at 6 p.m. Sept. 6 at Riverside Event Center, Oakmont.

A buffet dinner is scheduled for 7 p.m. Entertainment will be provided by classmate DJ Mark Magyar. Dress is casual.
