The weather may be unpredictable this time of year, but every weekend is a good opportunity to get out into the community, make new friends and have some fun.

Volunteer fair

Looking for a way to give back this spring? This is a great opportunity for neighbors of all ages to meet the Heritage Partners and nonprofits in Westmoreland County who are doing great work in the community — but also need some help from you.

Are you passionate about art? History? Nature? Supporting others in your area? Whatever you care about, there will be a group serving Westmoreland that’s excited to meet you.

This event is free and open to all.

The volunteer fair will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. Friday at the Greensburg Garden and Civic Center, 951 Old Salem Road. There are also giveaways, and while you don’t have to register, if you do, you’ll be entered to win a special door prize.

Original band member Bill Medley also had a successful career on his own, including partnering with Jennifer Warnes on “(I’ve Had) The Time Of My Life,” from the film “Dirty Dancing.”

The show will be at 6 p.m. Sunday at The Palace, 21 W. Otterman St., Greensburg. Tickets range from $59.75 to $89.75.

Visitors also receive a quiz sheet to fill out as the walk around and learn.

The event will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday in the Museum Stone Room, 1253 Bushy Run Road, Penn Township. Admission is free.
