Emergency demolition set in Troy Hill

A condemned, partially collapsed building in Pittsburgh’s Troy Hill neighborhood has been scheduled for an emergency demolition Monday.

TribLive news partner WTAE reports that the American Legion building, located in the 1500 block of Hatteras Street, partially collapsed Saturday morning.

The city’s Department of Licenses and Inspections office assessed damage after the initial collapse and found that the second floor rear of the building had collapsed, and the rear roof was sagging, according to WTAE.

“As a result of these conditions, the building has been condemned for safety concerns,” a spokesperson told WTAE. “We have determined an emergency demolition is required.”

Mon Wharf parking closed to flooding

The Mon Wharf will be closed Monday after it flooded because of the recent rain, according to WTAE.

The Downtown parking lot flooded Sunday. It will remain closed until the water recedes, the Public Parking Authority of Pittsburgh told WTAE.

Additional parking will be available at Wood Allies, Third Avenue, and First Avenue Garages, officials said.
