Carjacking in Point Breeze
Pittsburgh police are investigating a carjacking that happened Tuesday in Point Breeze.
Officers were called at about 9:50 a.m. to South Braddock Avenue and Waverly Street for a report of an armed robbery of a vehicle, according to public safety authorities.
A man told police he was sitting in his parked and running vehicle when two men opened the driver’s side door. He said they put a gun to his side and threatened him, forcing him out of the vehicle.
No injuries were reported.
Police said the suspects, described as being about 16 to 18 years old, fled eastbound and crashed Braddock. Then they ran from the scene.
The stolen vehicle was towed to the city garage for processing. The investigation is ongoing.
Police investigate 2 robberies at Pitt
Police are investigating two robberies near the University of Pittsburgh campus in Oakland, they say happened about 15 minutes apart.
On Tuesday, at about 11:55 p.m., campus police and city police were called to the intersection of North Dithridge Street and Centre Avenue. The victim told officers that he was approached, pushed and threatened by a man with neck tattoos and dreadlocks. The victim said he gave the man his wallet. No weapon was seen and the suspect then fled on foot.
About 15 minutes later, at about 12:10 a.m., officers were called to the 100 Block of Robinson Street. The victim there said a suspect tried to take his backpack and punched him in the head and face. A description of the suspect was not available. He fled on foot.

Teen injured in dirt bike crash in Washington County
A teen boy was flown to a hospital Monday with life-threatening injuries following a crash with a vehicle while riding a dirt bike in Washington County.
Emergency crews were called just about 7 p.m. to West Chestnut Street in Washington, according to TribLive news partner WTAE.
Officers found a teen injured in the westbound lane. The driver of the vehicle stayed on scene and administered aid to the boy until officials arrived.
There is no available update on the condition of the teen.
State police are assisting in the investigation.
