State police are investigating a report of inappropriate conduct involving an employee of a school district in southeastern Indiana County.
No charges had been filed as of Monday and there was no threat to students or staff at United School District.
The incident involved a district staff member and was reported on Friday at the junior-senior high school, according to state police spokesman Trooper Cliff Greenfield.
The district’s elementary and secondary campuses are located opposite each other along Route 56 in East Wheatfield Township.
In a letter posted Monday on the district website, Superintendent Richard E. Lucas said United is cooperating with police in the investigation.
Upon receiving the report, Lucas said, the district contacted state police and the county’s Children and Youth Services.
“Necessary actions were taken by the school district immediately upon being made aware of the allegations,” Lucas said, indicating the district isn’t releasing further details to protect the privacy of those involved.
Lucas encouraged anyone with information relevant to the investigation to contact state police.
