Duquesne men’s basketball coach Dru Joyce III welcomed a player with Atlantic 10 experience from the transfer portal Thursday night.
Stef Van Bussel, a 6-foot-10 redshirt sophomore center, posted his commitment to the Dukes on social media.

Van Bussel redshirted at Charleston last season but played his freshman season in the A-10 at Saint Louis and averaged 1.6 points and 2.6 rebounds.
A native of Ommel, Netherlands, he proved to be valuable on the boards late in his freshman season, pulling down 10 rebounds and six more in two meetings with Rhode Island, four against St. Bonaventure and five against Duquesne.
He also has international experience as a member of the Dutch U18 national team in 2021 and ‘22.
Forward John Hugley IV (Xavier, Oklahoma, Pitt) and guard Jimmie Williams (South Florida) have also joined Duquesne after transferring this offseason.
Twelve Duquesne players entered the transfer portal after the season, including Halil “Chabi” Barre (Akron), Tre Dinkins (George Washington), Kareem Rozier (Winthrop) and Eli Wilborn (James Madison).
Former Pitt forward Federiko on the move
Federiko Federiko, a 6-11 forward who averaged 5.7 points, 5.2 rebounds and 1.5 blocks in two seasons at Pitt, committed to Texas A&M on Thursday night.
The senior from Helsinki, Finland, played last season at Texas Tech, where he averaged 5.1 points and 4.5 rebounds.
