Penn State’s 2026 recruiting class keeps on rolling.
Three-star linebacker Mathieu Lamah (formerly Mathieu Kanu) committed to the Nittany Lions on Monday. He’s long been a target for the staff, visiting Happy Valley four times thus far, dating back to last November.
Lamah, a three-star and the nation’s No. 42 linebacker, stands 6-foot-3 and 225 pounds. He hails from Patriot High School in Manassas, Va.
Lamah is a physical linebacker capable of dishing out some serious punishment from his spot in the middle of the field, but he also shows the ability to run from sideline to sideline.
Lamah had also taken visits to Virginia Tech, North Carolina, Michigan and Rutgers, among others, before choosing the Nittany Lions. His planned official visit schedule for this summer included Penn State, Virginia Tech, UNC and Michigan, but that could change following his pledge.
Penn State now holds 15 verbal commitments in its 2026 class, a group that ranked No. 6 nationally, according to the 247Sports Composite, before adding Lamah. James Franklin and Co. hold two linebackers in the cycle, with Pennsylvania’s Terry Wiggins making his pledge this past Friday.
Since the start of Penn State spring ball at the end of March, a massive period of visits for top targets, the Lions have come away with seven commitments: cornerback David Davis, quarterback Peyton Falzone, safety Darrell Carey, defensive lineman Isaac Chukwurah, offensive lineman Roseby Lubintus, Wiggins and Lamah.
