Woman shot in Rankin

A woman was shot multiple times in Rankin early Tuesday morning, according to Allegheny County Police.

County 911 was notified at 12:39 a.m. of a shooting in the 200 block of 4th Avenue.

First responders found a woman who had been shot multiple times. She was taken to a hospital in critical condition.

Police said preliminary information shows the woman was getting out of her vehicle when someone approached and shot her, then fled on foot.

Gunshot fired at Brookline Recreation Center

A gunshot was fired during a fight outside of Brookline Recreation Center on Monday evening, public safety officials said.

Police were dispatched to the recreation center just after 7:30 p.m. for reports of a shot fired.

Public safety officials said a preliminary investigation showed a fight had broken out outside the recreation center, during which a man pulled out a gun and fired one round.

There were no reported injuries, but Pittsburgh EMS responded as a precaution.

The investigation is ongoing.
