Donations welcome at Animal Protectors
Animal Protectors of Allegheny Valley is accepting donations to repair damage at the shelter caused by a roof leak after last week’s storm.
Walls were soaked, floors were flooded and medical supplies and food were damaged, but all of the animals were unharmed.

Scavenger hunt underway in Vandergrift
Vandergrift Public Library is sponsoring a scavenger hunt through May 15 highlighting the 10 streets in the borough that are named for historic authors.
The library has placed markers at undisclosed locations on the streets that are named for authors. Hints to their locations are on the library’s Facebook page. Participants will solve the clues and check in via the QR code or by calling the library at 724-568-2212. With each check-in, participants will win a discount coupon for an appetizer at Allusion Brewery and a chance in a prize drawing.
