Anything That Floats Regatta planned in Leechburg
The Kiskiminetas Watershed Association will sponsor an Anything That Floats Regatta from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. June 14 in Leechburg as part of the borough’s 175th anniversary celebration.
Families and groups are encouraged to bring their most creative float-worthy craft and float on the Kiski River from the Leechburg Firehall to the Riverfront Park canoe and kayak launch. Prizes will be awarded for the most creative watercrafts. Floaters are encouraged to put their vessel on a truck or trailer and participate in the anniversary parade planned at 6 p.m. that evening.

Tea party to celebrate local authors
Victorian Vandergrift Museum and Historical Society and Vandergrift Public Library will host a tea party fundraiser, “Authors in the Neighborhood,” from 1 to 4 p.m. May 18 at Pleasant View Brethren Church fellowship hall, 1156 Pleasantview Drive, Parks Township.
Food will be served, local authors will read excerpts from their books at 2:15 p.m. and there will be a prize drawing.
