Pennsylvania State Police are investigating a house explosion on Wednesday afternoon in Butler County that sent a man to an area trauma center.
Police said investigators are working to determine the cause of the explosion, reported shortly before 1:30 pm. in Muddy Creek Township.
Multiple explosions and a fire were reported at the home in the 200 block of Sawyer Road, according to a Harmony Fire District Facebook post.
It also was reported that a man had suffered severe burn injuries to both hands. According to the post, the man was taken by helicopter for treatment at a hospital.
Fire officials said, “Crews were met with a small amount of fire, which they quickly extinguished.”
