Plenty of excitement is expected Friday during Round 2 of the 125th U.S. Open at Oakmont Country Club as players look to make the cut and play this weekend. Here’s a look at some highlights from Friday’s action:
9:30 a.m.
Justin Thomas dealt with a couple … or four … trick putts on the 12th green early Friday morning in Round 2. He ended up with a four-putt for a double bogey and fell back to 9-over-par.
Just seven players are currently under par for the tournament, and five of them have yet to tee off.
Justin Thomas had a 22-foot birdie putt on 12.

Some of the featured groups are on the course and getting a taste of Oakmont right away. Jordan Spieth, Jon Rahm and Dustin Johnson all missed the fairway off the first tee, landed in bunkers and were forced to lay up short of the green with their approach.
Playing with Justin Thomas and Min Woo Lee, Brooks Koepka, who started the day at 2-under par and in third place, bogeyed his first hole at No. 10 after three-putting.
