The Pittsburgh Penguins signed forward Boko Imama to a one-year, two-way contract with a salary cap hit of $775,000.

Those are the same parameters of his previous contract with the club.

Imama was scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent July 1. An unrestricted free agent signing during the 2024 offseason, Imama split the 2024-25 season with Pittsburgh Penguins and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.

Appearing in 16 NHL contests, the left-handed Imama (6-foot-1, 221 pounds) had one goal while averaging 5:40 of ice time per contest.

A physical presence, he also collected 30 minutes in penalties.

At the American Hockey League (AHL) level, Imama skated in 24 games and scored five points.

On March 29, the team announced the 28-year-old Imama underwent season-ending surgery to his right bicep. A time frame of four to six months is required for recovery.

With Imama re-signed, 18 players who finished the 2024-25 season under contract with the Penguins are scheduled to become free agents with regard to the NHL status on July 1
