Bishop Canevin outside linebacker Minikon Johnson committed to West Virginia on Tuesday, choosing the Mountaineers less than two weeks after getting his first college offers.

The 6-foot-2, 205-pound rising junior also listed offers from Akron and Kent State, with all three arriving in the past 11 days. Johnson announced his college decision on social media.

Recruiting websites Rivals and 247Sports have him unranked, but Johnson’s stock clearly rose in recent weeks while he attended college camps. He announced a West Virginia offer June 13 after visiting Morgantown.

Johnson became the second member of West Virginia’s 2027 recruiting class, and both players are from the WPIAL. West Mifflin running back Armand Hill committed to the Mountaineers in March.
