Eastbound traffic was shut down on a section of Route 30 near the Route 119 interchange following a crash early Thursday evening involving multiple vehicles, according to a Westmoreland County 911 dispatcher.
Southwest Greensburg, South Greensburg and Greensburg firefighters were among emergency crews responding at about 5:30 p.m.
There were unconfirmed reports from the scene that one of the vehicles was a tri-axle truck.
The highway was expected to be closed for an extended period while state police investigated the wreck. As of 7:45 p.m., police confirmed the road remained closed.
