Penguins to face Islanders in home opener

The Pittsburgh Penguins will face the New York Islanders at PPG Paints Arena on Oct. 9 in their home opener to the 2025-26 season.

That contest was announced via social media on Wednesday morning.

The entire NHL schedule for the 2025-26 season is expected to be released later in the day at 1 p.m.

Earlier in the week, the league announced the Penguins’ season-opener will be a road contest against the New York Rangers on Oct. 7.
