A motorcyclist died after a crash with an SUV in Sewickley Township, Westmoreland County, on Sunday afternoon, according to county Coroner Tim Carson.
Carson identified the motorcyclist as Michael A. Jones, 30, of Old Trail Road, North Huntingdon.
The crash happened around 4:30 p.m. at Clay Pike and Shady Lane.
According to Carson, a SUV was traveling south on Clay Pike and attempting to turn left onto Shady Lane when the two vehicles collided. Jones, who was wearing a helmet, was separated from his motorcycle.
Jones was taken to Independence Health System Westmoreland Hospital, where he died, Carson said.
The cause and manner of Jones’ death were pending autopsy and toxicology results.
No information on the driver of the SUV was available.
No information was available from state police, who are investigating the crash.
