A 46-year-old man has been charged with homicide in connection with a fire that killed one person and injured another in Castle Shannon Sunday morning.

Brian Shelleby is facing multiple charges including homicide, aggravated arson and causing or risking a catastrophe, Allegheny County Police said.

He was taken to the Allegheny County Jail pending preliminary arraignment, police said.

First responders were alerted to the fire in the 800 block of Corbett Drive just before 10 a.m. Sunday.

A 19-year-old woman, whom officials have not yet identified, was pronounced dead at the scene. Another woman was taken to a hospital in stable condition, officials said.

Officials said the women knew Shelleby.
