Motorists who travel along Harts Run Road in Indiana Township should plan extra time for their commute the next several weeks.

A portion of the road will see temporary restrictions through mid-November, PennDOT announced Thursday.

Work is expected to start Friday, with crews working in the area from Route 8 to Saxonburg Road. The project includes drainage improvements, surveying, milling and paving.

Plum-based contractor A. Liberoni, Inc. was awarded the contract for the $11.8 million group paving project.

Single-lane alternating traffic will occur from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily. Weekend restrictions will occur.

Also expected this month is the township paving program. It will impact traffic on Crest, Summit and Park drives; Old Orchard Trail; Puritan and Republic avenues; Duncan, Victory and Peace ways; Fox Hunt Road; and Hartwood Trail Public Works Area.

The cost for the tar-and-chip project is about $100,000, plus $49,000 for the guardrail work, according to officials.
