Girl shot in Pittsburgh’s Northview Heights
A juvenile girl was shot Sunday night in Pittsburgh’s Northview Heights neighborhood.
Police said they responded to a one-round ShotSpotter alert around 9:20 p.m. at the 170 block of Penfort Street.
Upon arriving officers found a girl outside with a gunshot wound to the leg, officials said.
No shooter was found at the scene, according to police.
EMS took the victim to a hospital in stable condition.
An investigation is ongoing.
Multiple people injured in Fayette County stabbing
Multiple people were injured Sunday in a stabbing in Fayette County.
Pennsylvania State Police were called to a home in the 50 block of Park Street in Redstone Township around 12:30 p.m., according to TribLive news partner WTAE.
Troopers found six people involved in the incident, WTAE reported.
Two people were flown to area trauma centers and three others were taken to nearby hospitals. One person was treated on the scene and released.
Fayette County District Attorney Mike Aubele told WTAE the suspect, Richard Hall, attacked his estranged wife and family.
The district attorney credited an 11-year-old daughter for shielding her mother from further attacks during the incident, WTAE reported.
An investigation is underway.
