Player of the week
Aven Shirley
Kiski Area, Sr., WR/DB
Shirley hauled in 10 catches for 184 yards and a touchdown in a 27-25 win over Armstrong. That reception total is the top mark in the Alle-Kiski Valley for 2025. His 32-yard reception from Artman in the second quarter put Kiski ahead 14-7. Shirley and the rest of the Cavaliers will go after their fourth win in a row Friday with a nonconference game at rival Plum.
Players to watch
Zack Coudreit
Burrell, Sr., WR/CB
The Bucs continue to refine their passing game with sophomore Antonio Perkins, and Coudreit has been a go-to receiver for yards and scores. He caught three balls for 48 yards in Friday’s 42-21 loss to Highlands. His 41-yard catch and run from Perkins drew Burrell to within a touchdown in the second quarter. The Bucs hope Coudreit can made more plays Friday against conference powerhouse Imani Christian.
CJ Hart
Plum, Jr., RB/LB
The Mustangs snapped a four-game losing streak last Friday with a 35-0 win over Fox Chapel, and Hart was at the heart of the victory. While Elijah Jackson led the way in carries (18) and rushing yards (162), Hart delivered in complementary fashion. He collected 112 yards and TDs of 15 and 50 yards on 12 attempts as Plum gained momentum ahead of Friday’s nonconference battle with Kiski Area at Mustangs Stadium.
Taiyvon Partlow
Highlands, Jr., RB/LB
While sophomore Tevin Owen-Cratsenberg racks up yardage and touchdowns, opposing teams can’t sleep on the ability of Partlow, who has collected some key yardage over the Golden Rams’ current three-game winning streak. He collected a season-best 10 carries for 78 yards in a Week 5 victory over Deer Lakes.
