Antonio Perkins
Burrell, So., QB/DB
It was a school-record night for Perkins in last Friday’s 48-41 victory over Deer Lakes. He set team marks for rushing yards (360) and touchdowns (seven) in a game. Of the 360 rushing yards, 303 came in the second half. Perkins also returned a kickoff 92 yards for a touchdown and a punt 37 yards for a score. He also recorded an interception and returned it 41 yards to set up another Burrell TD.
Players to watch
Alex Clawson
Apollo-Ridge, Sr., QB/DB
Clawson continues to be a playmaker at the top of the Vikings’ offense. Clawson threw for three scores and ran for another, amassing 196 total yards in Apollo-Ridge’s 28-14 victory over Ligonier Valley. For the season, Clawson has thrown for 11 TDs against just five interceptions and owns four rushing scores.
John Nonnenberg
Plum, Jr., QB/DB
Nonnenberg has been battling through an injury in recent weeks, but his leadership and on-field ability have been on display. Nonnenberg rushed for 84 yards with two big runs on the final drive that helped set up the game-winner last week. He also threw for 129 yards and a touchdown.
Jamarkus Prager
Highlands, Sr., QB/DB
The pass and the run have been on Prager’s detailed resume throughout the season. He flashed examples of that in last Friday’s 45-0 victory over Valley. He threw for 185 yards and a score and ran for 42 yards and a TD on four carries. For the season, Prager owns 1,105 passing yards and seven scores.
