Winter market to feature student creations, visits with Santa
Buffalo and South Buffalo elementary school PTOs will host the Freeport Area Youth Entrepreneur Winter Market from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday in the Freeport Middle School gymnasium, 629 S. Pike Road, Buffalo Township.
Over 50 students in kindergarten through 12th grade and local student clubs will sell handmade goods, gifts, artwork and creations they designed themselves. A Doughnuts with Santa event with photo ops will be included.
Admission is $3 or $10 per family.
Annual live Nativity planned Sunday at Concordia
Concordia Lutheran Ministries will host its annual live Nativity Sunday in front of the Haven II building, 148 Marwood Road, Jefferson Township.
Performances last 15 minutes and the last will begin at 6 p.m. Free parking will be available at Entrance 6 on Marwood Road. Hot chocolate and cookies will be served. Children can enjoy a craft station and gifts will be presented to guests 12 and younger. Bring a camera for photos with Santa.
Donations of cereal, instant potatoes, soups, canned fruit and vegetables, peanut butter and new reusable grocery bags will be accepted for the Lighthouse Foundation food pantry. Dress for the weather. For details, call 724-352-8268.
Christmas for Vets event accepting reservations
Five Forces will host its annual Christmas for Veterans event at 6 p.m. Dec. 13 at the Lower Burrell Veterans of Foreign Wars, 1601 Wildlife Lodge Road.
Doors open at 5 p.m. Dinner will be served and there will be entertainment, drinks, raffles, merchandise and prizes. Attendees must show DD214 paperwork, current military ID or proper discharge paperwork. Tickets are free for veterans and current military. Guest tickets are $25 each, plus drinks. Those attending must be at least 18.
