Carson Rihn scored 15 points to lead visiting Fox Chapel to a 47-41 boys basketball victory over the host Colts in the championship game of the Chartiers Valley tipoff tournament Saturday.

Joe McGivney added 12 points and three steals and Grant Fenton had 11 points and seven rebounds for the Foxes (3-0), who outscored the Colts 18-12 in the fourth quarter to turn the tide in a game tied after three quarters. Luca Federico scored 18 points for Chartiers Valley (2-1).

Armstrong 59, Mt. Pleasant 42 – Carter Schotting scored 26 points to lead Armstrong (2-1) to the nonsection win against Mt. Pleasant (1-2). Cole Massari had 15 points for Mt. Pleasant.

Belle Vernon 87, Bethel Park 69 – Elijah Majors, Dane Daugherty and Cam Jenko tallied 18 points each as Belle Vernon (2-2) beat Bethel Park (0-3) in the consolation game of the Upper St. Clair tournament. Curtis Wade added 13 points for Belle Vernon, which trailed by 14 points at halftime before outscoring Bethel Park 30-5 in the third quarter. Joe Parisi led Bethel Park with 23 points while Owen Turoski contributed 21 points.

Carrick 36, Brentwood 31 – Luzay Watson scored 13 points to lead Carrick (2-2) in the championship game of the Brentwood tournament. X’havier Nunez scored 22 for Brentwood (1-1).

Central Valley 78, Nazareth Prep 51 — Wyatt Clark had five 3-pointers and scored 22 points to lead Central Valley (3-0) over Nazareth Prep (0-4) at the Rize Sports tournament. Ryan Conti added 13 points and Adam Shroads had 10 points. Ahsan Harrison led Nazareth Prep with 20 points while Grey Wible scored 18 points off of six 3-pointers.

Cheswick Christian Academy 73, Propel Montour 63 – Joseph Rosio scored 32 points, including 16 in the first quarter, to lead Cheswick Christian (2-1) in the consolation game of the Aquinas Academy tournament. Brady Rochkind collected 25 points, 20 rebounds and nine assists and Naz Weaver chipped in 11 points for the Chargers. John Anderson scored 28 and Mar’Jai Porch added 16 for Propel Montour.

Eden Christian 62, Shady Side Academy 38 – Mason Dean scored 26 points to lead Eden Christian (3-0) past Shady Side Academy (1-1) in the Freeport tournament. Brady Salvia added 12 points.

Freeport 56, West Mifflin 50 – Gavin Tola scored 18 points to lead Freeport (1-2) past West Mifflin (0-5) at the tournament hosted by the Yellow Jackets.

Geibel Catholic 61, Freedom 58 – Evan Strimel led with 27 points, John Hess followed with 14 and Anthony Nickischer and Seth Dolan added 10 points apiece to lead Geibel Catholic (2-1) in the consolation game of the Brentwood tournament. Chase Andrews scored 24 points and Will Kumrow had 17 for Freedom (1-2).

Greensburg Salem 67, Greensburg Central Catholic 42 – Solomon Cain scored 23 points, Brody Burkholder had 16 and Jackson Stevey added 13 to lead Greensburg Salem (2-2) at the Hempfield tournament. Luke Semelka scored 20 points for Greensburg Central Catholic (0-2).

Highlands 65, St. Joseph 40 – Carmine Lacava scored 18 points to pace Highlands in the championship game of the St. Joseph tournament. Preston Foster added 14 points and 10 rebounds and Troy Bielak had 12 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists for the Golden Rams (2-1). Nick Tometsko scored 14 and Ryan McCarthy added 11 for the Spartans (1-1).

Indiana 66, Hempfield 63 – Aaron Webb led with 24 points, Darius Webb followed with 18 and Will Olsen added 13 for Indiana (3-2) at the Hempfield tournament. Trevor Donsen scored 16 points and Danny Husenits had 12 for Hempfield (2-1).

Elizabeth Forward’s Tyler Basic hit five 3-pointers as he led all scorers with 29 points while Daniel Spence tallied 11 points.

Winchester Thurston 58, Fort Cherry 36 – Michael Hammerling scored 21 points and Aiden Piemme added 14 to lead Winchester Thurston (3-1) in the championship game of the Fort Cherry tournament. Connor Vansickle led the Rangers (1-1) with 11 points.

Aquinas Academy 55, Seton LaSalle 48 – In the championship game of the Aquinas Academy tournament, Elliot Keverline scored 21 points to lead the host team to victory. Carly Bezila added 16 points for Aquinas Academy (3-0) while Ava Maroney scored 24 points for Seton LaSalle (1-1).

Baldwin 51, Upper St. Clair 45 (OT) – Julianne Ott had 16 points and Kelsey Meyer added 13 as Baldwin (2-1) won in overtime against Upper St. Clair (1-2) in the Baldwin/Peters Township tournament. Ryan Prunzik scored 20 points and hit four 3-pointers for Upper St. Clair, which led by seven points after three quarters.

Beaver County Christian 51, Neighborhood Academy 21 – Maia Burkhead scored 15 points to lead Beaver County Christian (2-1) over Neighborhood Academy (1-2) in the championship game of the Neighborhood Academy tournament.

Blackhawk 64, Forest Hills 42 – Aubree Hupp had 21 points and 26 rebounds and Grace Huston and Mia Sheesley scored 13 points each as Blackhawk (3-0) beat Forest Hills in nonsection play. Aivah Maul totaled 16 points in the loss.

Norwin 50, State College 46 – Nia O’Barto scored 11 points and Aubrey Graney added 10 to boost Norwin (3-0) at the State College tournament. Sheree Wilson scored 19 points for State College.

Peters Township 64, Pine-Richland 41 – At the Baldwin/Peters Township tournament, Bri Morreale sank six 3-pointers and scored 22 points to lead Peters Township (2-1) to the win against Pine-Richland (0-3). Taylor McCullough added 18 points and Maddyn Mehl had 11. Zoe Cook led Pine-Richland with 14 points while Cate Gentile added 12.

Plum 53, North Hills 37 – Riley Stephans led with 21 points, Tori Glogoski followed with 14 and Tamia West added 10 to lead Plum (2-1) at the tournament hosted by the Mustangs. Zoe Devlin scored 17 points and Lily Zickerfoose had 10 for North Hills (1-2).

Wrestling

Chartiers-Houston Invitational – The Moon wrestling team had a big day Saturday, bringing home five individual titles. Hayden Seymour (114) and Michael Olszewski (189) did so in dominant fashion, winning tech falls in the finals. Bryce Thomas (107), Cael Yanek (139) and Liam Costa (172) also topped the podium.

North Allegheny had a pair of champs in Griffen Reid (152) and Bradyn McConneha (285). Other champs from the WPIAL were state No. 1 Santino Sloboda of Butler (133), 100-match winner Bruce Anderchak of Quaker Valley (127), Elizabeth Forward’s Preston Bubash (121) and Montour’s Jacob Chacon (145).

Tom Best Memorial Top Hat tournament – Four WPIAL wrestlers took first place in Williamsport, including a trio from Connellsville. Falcons standouts Tommy Gretz (121), Kai Vielma (145) and Luke Lilley (152) took titles, as did Derry’s Mason Horwat (172).
