Continuing education

Absolute Value Academy is launching its Continuing Education Program, designed to give South Hills residents high-quality, university-level learning close to home. The program features four-week courses for adults 18 with a slate of instructors who are experts in their fields.

With busy schedules in mind, AVA’s Continuing Education Program fills a gap in the South Hills: access to enriching, intellectually stimulating classes, without having to commute to the city or commit to a full semester.

Beginning in January 2026, AVA will offer a diverse slate of courses, including:

• Inside the Criminal Mind – An investigation of criminal psychology and behavioral profiling.

• Decoding Pittsburgh – An examination of Pittsburgh’s fascinating, but lesser-known landmarks and history.

• Liberty and the Constitution – An engaging exploration of America’s founding principles and how they shape our world today.

• Writing Across Genres – A creative workshop for adults looking to develop skills in fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and more.

Courses are available at AVA’s Fort Couch Road location or can be brought directly to organizations. Senior living communities such as Providence Point, Asbury Heights and Embassy Suites have already purchased classes for their residents and guests, demonstrating the strong demand for flexible, high-quality continuing education options.

Enrollment is currently open.
