The Pittsburgh Penguins have delayed the start of their game Thursday night at PPG Paints Arena by 30 minutes because of a crash that closed Interstate 279 southbound.

Puck drop for the game against the Montreal Canadiens was scheduled at 7 p.m. That has been bumped to 7:30, the team said in a statement posted to social media.

The team encouraged fans who would typically use I-279 to get to the arena to use an alternate route.

The Parkway North’s southbound lane closed between I-79 and Exit 8 — the exit for Camp Horne Road — because of an overturned truck, according to TribLive news partner WTAE.

Pennsylvania State Police told WTAE the truck was carrying about 46,000 pounds of steel coils.

No injuries were reported, according to WTAE.
