Have you started your holiday shopping yet? If you have, reward yourself with a fun solo outing this weekend. If you still have presents to check off your list, take the chance to do something fun in between stops. Here are a few ideas for ways to treat yourself and the family this weekend.

Breakfast with Santa

Get ready for a magical morning at the Greensburg Garden and Civic Center with Santa, Mrs. Claus and the elves. Each person gets a tasty breakfast, including scrambled eggs, bacon, cheesy potatoes, pancakes and more.

There will be several kids’ activities and crafts for families to enjoy together, including ornament making and a Christmas wish list station. Each family will get the chance to visit with Santa and take photos for a special lifelong holiday memory.

There will be two seatings at the Greensburg Garden and Civic Center, 951 Old Salem Road, on Saturday. The first is at 8:30 a.m. and the second is at 11:30 a.m. Tickets are $18 per person. Learn more and get tickets at westmorelandculturaltrust.org.

Eagles tribute band

We all have our annual tolerance for holiday music — have you hit yours yet? If so, you have two chances this weekend to see convincing tribute band Eaglemania at the Lamp Theatre in Irwin and get some different songs stuck in your head.

Combining authenticity with dazzling showmanship, Eaglemania has been wowing crowds for more than a decade with their covers of classic Eagles tunes. Whether your favorite songs are by the Eagles themselves or solo hits by Don Henley and Joe Walsh, this show is bound to please.

Performances will be held Friday and Saturday nights at 8 p.m. at the Lamp Theatre, 222 Main St., Irwin. Tickets are $42 each. Get yours at lamptheatre.org.

‘It’s a Wonderful Life’

Most are familiar with the holiday classic film “It’s A Wonderful Life” — starring Western Pennsylvania’s own Jimmy Stewart. But what about the stage adaptation? This weekend, you can see the tale of George Bailey with a live cast onstage at the Geyer Performing Arts Center in Scottdale.

Follow along as the hero’s guardian angel shows him what the world would be like without him after George’s Christmas Eve wish that he’d never been born. This timeless and heartwarming tale is great on film but even better in person.

Performances will be held Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at the Geyer Performing Arts Center, 111 N. Pittsburgh St., Scottdale. Tickets are $15.00. Get yours at geyerpac.com.

Chunky Snowman Workshop and Hot Cocoa Bar

The weather outside may be frightful, but this cozy afternoon will be delightful. Take the chance to unwind and make a cute craft at this Sunday afternoon event.

Make a soft snowman out of high quality yarn (no prior skills required) while you sip hot cocoa from the bar. You can even decorate and boost your beverage with accompaniments including candy canes, marshmallows, whipped cream and more.

The event will be held at the Hampton Inn by Hilton, 1000 Towne Square Drive in Hempfield, from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday. Tickets should be purchased in advance, and all materials are provided. Learn more at the Hampton Inn’s Facebook page, facebook.com/ HamptonInnGBG.

Holiday Vintage Handmade Market

Whether the tough nut to crack on your holiday gift list loves old, precious items or newly-made handcrafted goods, this market will have something to help you wrap up your holiday shopping.

This Saturday, dozens of vintage and handmade vendors will gather at the Hempfield Athletic Complex, 220 Forbes Trail Road, to sell a little bit of everything, from clothes to candles to magnets to jewelry and everything in between. There will also be food item vendors, both sweet and savory, with items that you can gift or get yourself as a treat.

Entry is $5. College students with valid ID and those under age 18 get in for free. A portion of proceeds benefits Westmoreland County Food Bank. See a list of the vendors at greensburgnight market.com.
