Nicholas Trklja and Justin Fry scored 13 points each to lead Thomas Jefferson to a 42-39 victory over Peters Township in Section 3-5A boys basketball Friday night.

The Jaguars (5-0, 1-0), trailing by four, outscored Peters Township 14-7 in the fourth quarter. Dylan Donovan scored 15 points to lead Peters (3-2, 0-1).

Apollo-Ridge 56, West Shamokin 28 – Zane Beatty had 23 points as Apollo-Ridge (4-2) beat West Shamokin in nonsection play. Noah Stewart added 13 points Kolson Grguric picked up 10. Alex Talmadge had 13 points for West Shamokin.

Archbishop Hoban 85, North Catholic 75 – Owen Hamilton led four double-digit scorers with 21 points (four 3-pointers) as Archbishop Hoban (2-0) took down North Catholic (3-1). Arria Caporaletti had 17, Nico Caporaletti had 16 and Lance Richardson had 15 for the Knights. Jude Rottmann led North Catholic with 23, while Brandon Picket (20), Jason Fredericks (14) and Jake Olkawski (11) combined for 45 points.

Avella 62, Carlynton 47 – Bryce Wright led all scorers with 20 while Brayden Fuller, Rylan Bell and Cam Ullom each had 11 for Avella (5-1) in a nonsection win. Isaac Anker led Carlynton (2-2) with 11, followed by Michael Jenkins’ 10.

Baldwin 56, Avonworth 28 – Sadiq Anderson had a game-high 13 to lead Baldwin (3-1) to a nonsection win over Avonworth (0-4).

Belle Vernon 70, West Mifflin 51 – Four players scored in double digits for Belle Vernon (3-3, 1-0) with Cam Jenko leading the way with 14. Elijah Majors had 13, Vincenzo Francia had 12 and Curty Wade had 11 for the Leopards. Julian Dewberry had scored 13 to lead West Mifflin (0-7, 0-1), while Eli Kurta had 12 and Noah Williams had 11.

Bentworth 55, Riverview 45 – Ben Hays had 20 points as Bentworth (3-1, 1-0) beat Riverview (2-5, 0-1) in Section 1-2A. Ryan Moessner added 16 points for the Bearcats while Levi Urcho tallied 11. Rex Roberts led Riverview with 13 points.

Beth-Center 64, Mapletown 29 – Three players reached double digits for Beth-Center (3-1, 1-0), led by Parker Amos’ 18 points. Hunter Bobbs had 12 and Brayden Hull had 11 for the Bulldogs. Ashton Walker scored 10 for Mapletown (0-5, 0-1).

Brashear 50, Steel Valley 14 – Ryan White, Derrick Smith and Trevon Rosario-Jones scored eight points apiece to help Brashear (2-4) to a nonsection victory over Steel Valley (0-6).

Canon-McMillan 54, Imani Christian 48 – Roman Koenemund scored 19 points and Keegan Williams contributed 11 as Canon-McMillan (3-1, 1-0) beat Imani Christian (0-2, 0-1) in Section 2-6A. I’Zayah Bradshaw recorded 19 points in the loss.

Central Catholic 48, Upper St. Clair 46 (OT) – Owen Campfield scored a game-high 17 points and Danny Haller had 10 to lead Central Catholic (3-1, 1-0) to the Section 2-6A win. Ryan Robbins had 16 and Jake Foster had 15 to lead Upper St. Clair (4-1, 1-1).

Chartiers-Houston 50, Fort Cherry 47 – Wesley Yeater had four 3-pointers and 15 points in Chartiers-Houston’s Section 2-3A win. Aaron Walsh added 10 points for the Bucs (3-2, 1-0). Connor Vansickle led Fort Cherry (1-2, 0-1) with 13 points while Landon Trnavsky and Jordan Bianchi added 12 points each.

Clairton 73, Springdale 44 – Jeff Thompson III scored 17 points and Isaiah Mills added 11 as Clairton (2-0, 1-0) defeated Springdale (1-3, 0-1) in Section 1-2A play. Robby Simmen recorded a game-high 21 points in the loss.

East Allegheny 56, Derry 50 – B.J. Warren scored 22 points and Julian Patterson had 13, leading East Allegheny (3-1, 1-0) to a Section 3-4A win. Stanley Rajkovich led Derry (3-3, 0-1) with 23 while Brayden Robinson had 16.

Ellwood City 75, Freedom 50 – Aaron Lake scored 23 points to lead Ellwood City (4-2, 1-0) to the Section 1-3A win over Freedom (1-4, 0-1). Kaleb Servick contributed 18 points while Tyler Smiley added 12. Chase Andrews led Freedom with 21 points.

Fox Chapel 50, Seneca Valley 26 – John Rehak (12) and Carson Rihn (10) combined for 22 points to lead Fox Chapel (4-1, 1-0) to a Section 1-6A win over Seneca Valley (2-2, 0-1).

Greensburg Salem 48, Yough 23 – Solomon Cain scored 13 points as Greensburg Salem (3-2, 1-0) defeated Yough (0-7, 0-1) in Section 3-4A. Noah Dudek added 11 points and Brody Burkholder contributed 10 for the Golden Lions.

Hampton 49, Plum 45 – Gavin Guinn had 16 points and Zach Danner added 11 as Hampton (3-2, 1-0) beat Plum (1-4, 0-1) in a Section 2-5A contest. Bryce Nabozny led Plum with 15 points while Owen Proskin and Xavier Barto added 10 points each.

Hickory 58, Beaver 51 – Trevor Borowicz and Ky Slevin each had 18 points to lead Hickory (4-0) to a nonsection win. Jake Peluso had 14, Junior Marino had 13 and Logan Weiland had 10 for Beaver (3-2)

Hopewell 84, New Brighton 69 – Brody Rock scored 27 points and James “Booboo” Armstrong added 23 as Hopewell (3-0) beat New Brighton (3-2) in a nonsection game. Dash Graham paced New Brighton with 23 points and Joey Kennedy chipped in 19 points.

Indiana 56, Penn Hills 36 – Kai Nkromah-Harris scored 18 points, Aaron Webb had 17 and Will Olsen chipped in 11 as Indiana (4-2, 1-0) earned the Section 2-5A win. Calix Clark had a team-high 18 points for Penn Hills (0-4, 0-1)

Jeannette 90, California 34 – In Section 1-2A, Marcus McGowan scored 30 points and hit four 3-pointers to lead Jeannette (4-1, 1-0) to victory over California (0-2, 0-1). Kymon’e Brown added 15 points for Jeannette, which led 54-26 at the half. Ben Ziolecki tallied 12 points for California.

Jefferson-Morgan 73, Burgettstown 27 – Jeremiah Robertson had 17 points, Tritan Farabee added 15 points and Dayten Marion contributed 14 points as Jefferson-Morgan (3-0, 1-0) downed Burgettstown (1-3, 0-1) in Section 2-3A. Lance Duran scored 11 points for Burgettstown.

Keystone Oaks 48, Seton LaSalle 45 – Isaac Russell (14) and Joey Colton (11) combined for 25 points to lead Keystone Oaks (6-0) to a nonsection win. Gabe Gizzi had a game-high 19 points to lead Seton LaSalle (4-2) while DayVaughn Williams had 17.

Laurel 63, Union 39 – Tyler Stewart scored 15 points while Mason Ernst added 13 and Seth Gilmore contributed 11 as Laurel (3-1, 1-0) defeated Union (1-6, 0-1) in a Section 4-2A game.

Leechburg 40, Propel Braddock Hills 34 – Connor Szymanski scored 21 points and Timmy Skeel added 10 as Leechburg (1-5, 1-0) rallied from a four-point deficit after three quarters to pick up a Section 2-2A win. Harry Simpson led Propel Braddock Hills (1-5, 0-1) with eight.

Ligonier Valley 84, Geibel Catholic 72 – Michael Vargulish-Graver had 28, Michael Wisniewski had 25 and Ligonier Valley (3-2) got the nonsection win. Simeon Pope had 14, and Noak Knupp had 10 for the Rams. Anthony Nickischer scored 23 points and Seth Dolan added 22 for Geibel Catholic (3-2).

Lincoln Park 66, Montour 49 – Josh Pratt hit four 3-pointers on the way to scoring 24 points as Lincoln Park (4-0, 2-0) recorded the Section 4-5A win. Amaizen Straughters added 19 points and Jeremiah Pratt tallied 16 points. Loic Kalau led Montour (0-4, 0-1) with 17 points while Zane Schachter added 14 points.

Mars 71, Blackhawk 47 – Sam Miller’s 18 points paced four double-digit scorers for Mars (3-1, 1-0) in its Section 4-5A win against Blackhawk (2-3, 0-1). Ethan Kresinski added 16 points for the Fightin’ Planets while Austen Wroblewski had 11 points and Nicholas Santoro had 10. Marco Fusetti scored a game-high 27 points for Blackhawk.

McGuffey 40, Brownsville 27 – In nonsection play, Kolt McGowan scored 19 points to lead McGuffey (4-2) past Brownsville (0-4).

McKeesport 54, Laurel Highlands 52 – Lamont Perkins scored 21 points and Darryl McCullough followed with 12 as McKeesport (3-1, 1-0) won in Section 1-5A. Luke Martin scored 20, Jude Packrone had 12 and Tyrone Burton chipped in 11 for Laurel Highlands (4-2, 0-1).

Mohawk 57, Riverside 41 – Bobby Fadden scored 18 points to lead Mohawk (3-1, 1-0) to the Section 1-3A win against Riverside (4-1, 0-1). Joey Nail contributed 13 points for Mohawk while Drew Wrona added 11 points.

Monessen 67, Charleroi 63 (OT) – Torrence Taylor had 20, Daniel Towler finished with 12 and Jay’veyon Jeffries chipped in 10 as Monessen (2-2) earned the nonsection win. Jackson Keranko scored 18 and Luke Henderson had 12 for Charleroi (2-3)

Neshannock 69, OLSH 46 – David Kwiat had a game-high 23 points, Luca Pagley scored 17 and Jino Mozzocio collected 12 as Neshannock (2-1, 1-0) picked up the Section 4-2A win. Jake Johnson scored 19 and Tieman McCullough had 10 for OLSH (2-1, 0-1).

New Castle 68, North Hills 33 – Damian Harrison scored 20 points, Kai Cox added 10 and New Castle (5-0, 1-0) won its Section 1-6A opener. Jackson Long led North Hills (3-2, 0-1) with 12 points.

North Allegheny 48, Butler 43 – Blake Craft scored 16 points and Will Robertson added 10 as North Allegheny (4-0, 1-0) defeated Butler (2-2, 0-1) in Section 1-6A. Stainton Forbes led Butler with 16 points while Andrew Gettinger recorded 14 points.

Rochester 63, Western Beaver 53 – Bobby George had a game-high 27 points to lead Rochester (1-5) to a nonsection win. Khai Hudson had 22, and Nate Schwarz had 15 for Western Beaver (1-5).

Shaler 65, Armstrong 41 – Jordan Epps (22) and Deron Nixon (20) each hit the 20-point mark to lead Shaler (2-3, 1-0) to the Section 2-5A win. Quinton Olsen had 11 and Memphis Cypher added 10 for Armstrong (4-2, 0-1).

Shenango 69, South Side 43 – Taegan Russo hit seven 3-pointers and scored 30 points to lead Shenango (4-0, 1-0) to the Section 2-4A win against South Side (3-2, 0-1). Caleb McConnell added 13 points for the Wildcats while Andrew Corfield paced the Rams with 10 points.

South Allegheny 80, Washington 59 – Fisher LeLace netted seven 3-pointers on his way to a game-high 27 points to lead South Allegheny (4-1) to a nonsection win. Drew Cook scored 19, Smaj Reason had 17 and Alisah Cook contributed 11 for the Gladiators. Tristan Reed led Washington (3-3) with 21, while William Callan (12), Tayvonne France (10) and Jamarie Walker (10) combined for 32 points.

Summit Academy 54, St. Joseph 53 – Demetrius Crosby had the game-winning three-point play with three-tenths of a second left as Summit Academy (4-1) defeated St. Joseph (2-3) in nonsection play. Crosby had 21 points while Ryan Everton added 12 and Khalik Ollie had 11. Ryan McCarthy and Nick Tometsko each scored 17 points for St. Joseph.

Uniontown 75, Albert Gallatin 58 – Isaac Ellsworth hit four 3-pointers and tallied 22 points as Uniontown (3-1, 1-0) picked up the Section 1-5A win. Cameron Dugan added 16 points for the Red Raiders while teammates Anthony Sheffey and Nolan Baker totaled 11 points each. Darrin Ford led Albert Gallatin (2-3, 0-1) with 22 points while Adam Pegg chipped in 14 points.

Winchester Thurston 54, Brentwood 51 (OT) – Anthony Pipkin scored 14 points and Michael Hammerling added 10 to help Winchester Thurston (4-1, 1-0) to a Section 2-2A win. Xh’avier Nunez scored 18 and Deng Mu added 17 for Brentwood (1-3, 0-1).

Blackhawk 54, Pine-Richland 42 – Aubree Hupp scored 20 points and Grace Huston had 18 to lead Blackhawk (5-0) to the nonsection win. Mia LeDonne had 16 and Zoe Cook had 11 for Pine-Richland (1-4).

Burrell 51, Connellsville 45 – Casey Brancato scored 17 points and Chase Coury followed with 16 for Burrell (6-1) in a nonsection win. Saige Mickens led Connellsville (3-4) with 29 points.

Fox Chapel 45, Penn Hills 44 – Nina Kulikowski had 16 points to lead Fox Chapel (1-3, 1-0) to a Section 1-5A win. Bella Geller scored 11 and Lyla Jablon had 10 for the Foxes. Milani Oliver led Penn Hills (1-1, 0-1) with 19, followed by Malaya Middleton’s 14 and Harmony McLean’s 11.

Greensburg Salem 61, Yough 28 – In nonsection play, Mya Heasley scored 16 points and Vienna Jevicky added 14 as Greensburg Salem (3-2) beat Yough (4-3). Isabella Dinkel chipped in 10 points for the Golden Lions.

Jefferson-Morgan 52, Turkeyfoot Valley 21 – Ava Wood sank five 3-pointers while scoring 19 points to lead Jefferson-Morgan (4-1) to the nonsection win over Turkeyfoot Valley. Jefferson-Morgan led 38-8 at halftime.

McGuffey 50, Southmoreland 20 – Maura Janovich had 14 points as McGuffey (3-3) beat Southmoreland (1-5) in nonsection play.

Propel Braddock Hills 48, Springdale 30 – Sariah Davoren scored 22 points as Propel Braddock Hills defeated Springdale (1-5) in nonsection play. Trinity Finney added 10 points for Propel Braddock Hills. Talia Brunck paced Springdale with 12 points while Maggie Simonetti chipped in 11 points.

Riverview 58, Brentwood 43 – Isabel Chapparo sank four 3-pointers and tallied 26 points to lead Riverview (3-1) over Brentwood (0-5) in a nonsection matchup. Ella Dusch scored 19 points in the loss.

Shaler 37, Armstrong 31 – In Section 1-5A, Allison Greygor scored nine points off of three 3-pointers as Shaler (4-1, 1-0) beat Armstrong (3-3, 0-1). Mary Duncan led the River Hawks with 12 points.

Thomas Jefferson 65, Peters Township 51 – Maggie Spell scored 25, Riley McCabe had 17, Emma Altavilla added 10 and Thomas Jefferson (5-1, 1-0) got the Section 4-5A win. Taylor McCullough scored 19 while Jordan Welsh had 13 and Alina Sopko chipped in 10 for Peters Township (3-2, 0-1).

Winchester Thurston 57, Aliquippa 49 – Jasmine Hollins scored 29 points to lead Winchester Thurston (5-1) to the nonsection win over Aliquippa (3-2). DaShae Cochran and Aleah Cooper added 13 and 12 points, respectively.
