On a massive recruiting day, Penn State has now added a commitment at the most important position on the field.
Class of 2026 quarterback Kase Evans committed to the Nittany Lions and head coach Matt Campbell on Sunday afternoon. He was previously committed to Campbell at Iowa State but was released from his signing after the coaching change.
The same can be said for four other pledges Penn State secured this weekend, including three on Sunday. Three-star safety Bryson Williams got things started Saturday, then three-star defensive back Tyrell Chatman and three-star punter Lucas Tenbrock followed suit Sunday.
Evans is an intriguing addition. Ranked three stars, he’s the No. 60 quarterback in this cycle. He racked up more than 11,000 passing yards in his Lexington High School (Texas) career with 120 touchdowns.
Evans was once committed to Oklahoma State before he found his way to Campbell at Iowa State.
This is now the second quarterback added in Penn State’s 2026 cycle, joining four-star Nazareth (Pa.) signee Peyton Falzone. Falzone was one of just two players (DE Jackson Ford) to pledge to the Nittany Lions before the addition of Campbell.
Penn State now has six total players in a 2026 recruiting class that is up to 139th nationally in the 247Sports Composite rankings.
