Is there a line that President Trump supporters have that finally wakes them up to the abject cruelty and the numerous lies of this administration?
Let’s start with the killing of the two survivors of the missile strike on their boat. First, when did we declare war on Venezuela? Second, drug smugglers are civilians, not military combatants (not condoning their choice, but there are laws and rules of engagement). Third, if every boat strike and death saves 25,000 lives, at this point we’re at 2 million lives “saved” and yet fentanyl deaths last year were 87,000 total (plus a reminder that the majority of fentanyl comes from Mexico). Fourth, if drugs are such an issue, why did Trump pardon multiple drug offenders this year? Especially the ex-president of Honduras, who admitted to importing 400 tons of cocaine into the U.S. Any thought that we really just want Venezuela’s oil and gold mines?
The propaganda arm of Trump’s administration — aka Fox News — has been on a media blast to convince their viewers that we should consider these boats “weapons of mass destruction.” What? And their justifications — maybe the survivors were waving their arms so they could get on another drug boat. Please tell me no one believes this. Meanwhile, there are Americans who applaud and scream for more blood. What has happened to our country?
