A fundraiser has been established to help the victims of Saturday’s fatal Tarentum fire.

A GoFundMe was organized Tuesday to raise money for Paula Clever, whose son, Landen, was killed in a duplex fire at 912 Corbet St.

More than $1,900 had been collected as of Wednesday afternoon. The goal is $3,500.

Organizer Andrea Chiusano was not immediately able to be reached.

“Paula suffered an unimaginable tragedy,” the post reads. “She lost everything in a house fire, including her beloved son, Landen. At this time we are trying to comfort her and support her the best we can.”

The money will be used for funeral costs and to help Clever relocate, according to the post.

Multiple crews battled the fire, which broke out at about 11 p.m.

Highland Hose Volunteer Fire Company Captain Robert Stoebener said crews worked quickly to knock down “a very stubborn fire” but he expects the house will be a total loss.

The scene was hampered by “very heavy smoke,” but the hydrants were not frozen despite nearly 6 inches of snow earlier that day, he said.

Kasey Reigner, spokesperson for the Allegheny County Department of Emergency Services, said an investigation into the fire is ongoing.

Fire officials said only one-half of the duplex was lived in.

Earlier this week, friends of Clever’s put out a social media push to collect donations through Venmo. It is unclear how much was raised.
