Pro Bowl defensive back Jalen Ramsey had his status designation removed and will be in uniform for the Pittsburgh Steelers’ final road game of the regular season Sunday at the Cleveland Browns.

Guard Isaac Seumalo, meanwhile, was downgraded to out.

Ramsey had missed practice Thursday and Friday because of illness and went into the weekend questionable to play Sunday as listed on the league-mandated status report.

The development was a welcome one for the Steelers, who will be without two injured starting cornerbacks: James Pierre (calf) and Brandin Echols (groin). Pierre will miss a third consecutive game. When Echols was forced out of last week’s win at the Detroit Lions, Ramsey moved from free safety to his slot/nickel spot.

Ramsey was a three-time first-team AP NFL All-Pro at outside corner but has moved around the Steelers’ secondary this season.

It remains to be seen where Ramsey lines up most often Sunday against the Browns. When he missed practice, Chuck Clark played safety and D’Shawn Jamison stepped in as the slot/nickel.

Jamison on Saturday was announced as a practice-squad elevation for the game in Cleveland. He dressed for one prior game for the Steelers this season; his only other NFL regular-season experience (15 games) came as an undrafted rookie in 2023 for the Carolina Panthers.

“I’m just going to try to do my job,” the 5-foot-9, 186-pound Jamison said Friday. “That’s my goal, just doing my job, executing it, and just play good.

“I’d describe my game as I have the agility, speed, quickness. I’m aggressive. That’s kind of how I play my game. I try to just keep it as that and just maintain it so that I am doing my job.”

With Seumalo out, Jack Driscoll on Sunday once again will be a Steelers’ gameday roster elevation from the practice squad. This is the third straight game Driscoll will be in uniform as a backup offensive linemen; he did not get on the field either of the past two weeks.

In Seumalo’s stead, left guard will again be manned by Spencer Anderson and Andrus Peat. Anderson will play the position aside from when his duties as a “jumbo” tight end call him to that role.

To clinch their first AFC North title in five years, the Steelers (9-6) went into the weekend needing either a win in Cleveland or a loss by the Baltimore Ravens on Saturday night.
