The Pennsylvania Turnpike eastbound is closed in New Stanton as a result of a crash near the Allegheny Tunnel.
The wreck was reported around 6 a.m. between the Somerset and Bedford interchanges, according to the Pennsylvania Turnpike. A long detour awaits for eastbound traffic to re-enter the toll highway at Breezewood.
The detour takes motorists on Route 119 north to Toll Route 66 and onto Route 22 east for nearly 64 miles. Then, the detour route moves onto Interstate 99 south for 30 miles and Route 30 east for 18 miles before getting on the turnpike at the Breezewood interchange, according to the agency.
It was unclear if anyone was hurt in the crash or when the road would reopen.
Westbound traffic on the turnpike was experiencing delays in the area of the crash.
