Forward Joona Koppanen had a goal and an assist for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in a 6-2 loss to the Charlotte Checkers at Mohegan Arena in Wilkes-Barre on Tuesday.

Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (22-8-1-2) also got a goal from forward Aaron Huglen.

Goaltender Sergei Murashov’s record fell to 11-3-0 after he made 19 saves on 24 shots over 39:43 of ice time. He was replaced to open the third period by Filip Larsson, who stopped 14 of 15 shots in 20 minutes of ice time.

Highlights:

Penguins defenseman Matt Dumba returned to the lineup after being scratched for two games following an automobile accident in which he avoided injury.

The Penguins’ next game is a road contest against the Syracuse Crunch on Saturday, 7 p.m.
