Oakmont Council underwent its annual shuffle on Jan. 5.
Newcomers James “Jim” Parsons and Charles Fox were sworn into four-year seats on council alongside returning council members Amanda Pagnotta and Isaiah Wilson. After taking her oath of office earlier in the day, newly reelected Mayor Sophia Facaros swore in the council members.
Wilson took his oath over Zoom.
Nancy Ride and Jennifer Paris were nominated for council president, with Ride ultimately being reelected.
“I appreciate you giving me this responsibility again,” Ride said. “It’s a good working team but I think there’s always more we can do, and I’m hoping to make all of us more of a part of the decision making as we go.”
Pagnotta and Parsons were nominated as council vice president. Parsons declined the nomination, saying he felt he was too new to the council to accept the role. Pagnotta was appointed.
Wilson and Paris were nominated as president pro-tempore. Wilson declined the nomination saying Paris would be better for the role. Paris was voted in as president pro-tempore unanimously.
Scot Fodi and Phyllis Anderson were reappointed as borough manager and assistant borough manager, respectively.
