Randy McMillan, an anchor and running back on the 1979 and 1980 Pitt football teams, died Wednesday at the age of 67.
The Indianapolis Colts announced his passing Friday. McMillan was drafted 12th overall in 1981 by the Baltimore Colts and spent his entire NFL career with the team.
McMillan, chiefly a fullback, helped the Panthers to a 22-2 combined record under coach Jackie Sherrill during his two years with the program after transferring from Hartford Community College in Maryland.

In 1979, McMillan and freshman quarterback Dan Marino led Pitt to an 11-1 record, No. 7 national ranking and victory over Arizona in the Fiesta Bowl.
On the year, he rushed for 721 yards and 10 scores.

The 1980 campaign saw McMillan earn honorable mention All-American accolades, as he rushed for 633 yards and nine touchdowns. Pitt repeated with an 11-1 record, was the No. 2 team in the nation and defeated South Carolina in the Gator Bowl.
That year also featured a memorable 14-9 win over No. 5 Penn State.
With 1,354 career rushing yards, McMillan ranks 29th in Pitt program history.
The following spring, McMillan was one of 12 Panthers selected in the 1981 NFL Draft, which included three first-rounders, along with Hugh Green and Mark May.
McMillan went on to play for the Colts through 1986 and was on the team when it moved from Baltimore to Indianapolis in early 1984.
He appeared in 88 NFL contests, taking 990 handoffs for 3,876 yards and 24 touchdowns. Through the air, he added 164 receptions for 1,356 yards and two scores.
