The defensive line is calling his name again, and Conlan Greene can’t wait to get back in the trenches.

The former Penn-Trafford football standout, who played three years at Temple, announced Saturday he has committed to play at Youngstown State.

He entered the NCAA transfer portal with one year of eligibility remaining.

“It was mainly the people out there and the belief they have in me,” Greene said of YSU. “It will be nice to be closer to home as well. I’ll be on full scholarship, as well, so it will be a good deal.”

Green (6-foot-4, 285 pounds), who played quarterback and defensive end in high school and won WPIAL and PIAA 5A championships in 2021, played on the defensive line as a freshman and sophomore before switching to long snapper this season.

He has 25 tackles — 19 as a freshman — and one sack, across 34 career games.

Greene feels he has more to prove on defense and more wins to collect.

“I’m looking to go win another championship in my last year,” he said. “And I believe it’s going to be possible out there.”

Is in unclear if he will do any long snapping at his new program.
