The Pittsburgh Steelers added a pair of cornerbacks to their game day roster for Monday’s playoff meeting with the Houston Texans.
Tre Flowers and D’Shawn Jamison were designated to be in uniform for the wild-card round game. Each is expected to be limited to a special-teams role and only play on defense in the event of a spate of injuries to the Steelers secondary.
Jamison has been with the organization for a year and spent all season on the practice squad. He was in uniform for three regular-season games — including the final two — and played a total of 11 special-teams snaps and none on defense.
Flowers, 30, was signed late last month and was in uniform for the Dec. 28 game at the Cleveland Browns. He was on the field for two special teams snaps.
The Steelers waived Flowers last week, but after he cleared they added him to the practice squad.
Flowers has played in 108 career NFL games (including playoffs) for seven teams.
Kickoff Monday is set for 8:15 p.m.
