1 person injured in Hazelwood shooting

Pittsburgh police were dispatched Monday evening to the 100 block of Tecumseh Street in Hazelwood in response to an eight-round ShotSpotter alert at approximately 10:15 p.m., according to the Pittsburgh Police Public Safety Blotter.

When officers arrived on the scene they found shell casings on the sidewalk, the blotter said.

Two residences were struck by bullets.

While clearing the first damaged residence, police located an wounded adult woman, who had been shot in the leg, the blotter report said.

Police said the victim was conscious, alert and able to speak with officers and medical personnel. She was transported to an area hospital by Pittsburgh Emergency Medical Services and is in stable condition, the blotter said.

According to police, the second damaged residence was occupied at the time, but no injuries were reported to any of the occupants.

Witnesses at the scene told police that prior to shots fired, a dispute between neighbors had broken out over a parking complaint, according to the blotter.

The Mobile Crime Unit was called to process evidence at the scene.

No arrests had been made as of Monday night, according to the blotter.

The investigation is ongoing.
