Could Mike Tomlin be ditching the black and gold for purple and black?
Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti offered his thoughts, after he was informed of Tomlin’s departure from the Steelers Tuesday.
“He did? Is it official? he asked about Tomlin’s decision to step down as head coach.
A reporter then asked whether Tomlin was a candidate for the Ravens opening.
“Holy (expletive). Wow. Wouldn’t that be awesome?” Bisciotti said. “Only if John (Harbaugh) takes the Pittsburgh.”
Bisciotti didn’t completely dismiss the notion.
“Wouldn’t that be interesting?” he said.
Then he referred to Tomlin pounding his chest on national TV after the Steelers beat the Ravens, 26-24, on Jan. 4 to advance to the playoffs.
“That thing last week maybe disqualified him from my opening after our kicker missed a kick to let them advance,” Bisciotti said. “I love Mike. I mean, I’ve admired Mike for 18 years and that’s really shocking.”
Harbaugh was fired last week after 18 seasons as the Baltimore Ravens’ coach.
