Police and emergency crews shut down a portion of Greensburg Road in Lower Burrell after a pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle there.
The incident was reported around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday near the city’s Kinloch neighborhood. Traffic was being stopped and rerouted just before the Glassmere Fuel station on the Parnassus Triangle side of the crash and through Kinloch from eastern side of the scene.
Police at the scene confirmed a pedestrian was killed but did not immediately have any further information about the incident. A state police forensics team and Westmoreland County Coroner officials were expected to respond.
A white Ford pickup with front end damage was visible at the scene in front of PSE Asphalt and Concrete Construction on Greensburg Road.
This is a developing story.
