After the “Bearista” cups sold out at Starbucks before the holidays last year, many people have been clamoring for another chance to snag one.

The 20-ounce Bearista cold cup, made of glass, was initially sold as part of Starbucks’ holiday merchandise drop for $29.95.

Shaped like a bear holding its own Starbucks drink, the Bearista cup is in the shape of a bear and is wearing a green beanie with a hole in the top, which is where the green and white-striped straw is placed. It has black eyes and a black nose.

The Bearista is designed exclusively for cold drinks — iced coffees, cold brews and their kin.

When they first launched on Nov. 6, the Bearista cups sold out immediately, E! News reported. Many hopefuls were unable to score one, and in response Starbucks apologized for the lack of supply of the item.

“The excitement for our merchandise exceeded even our biggest expectations,” Starbucks told People in a Nov. 6 statement. “Despite shipping more Bearista cups to coffeehouses than almost any other merchandise item this holiday season, the Bearista cup and some other items sold out fast.

“We understand many customers were excited about the Bearista cup and apologize for the disappointment this may have caused.”

Will Starbucks be releasing more? As of now, the answer is vague.

There’s been buzz surrounding the Bearista cups this week, as Starbucks is launching them in the United Kingdom on Thursday, according to a post on its UK social media.

They’re still being sold on resale sites for various amounts of money — with some listings set at multiple hundreds of dollars for one cup.

On eBay, there are even numerous listings for the cup set between $30,000 and $50,000 for one cup. The highest-priced listing is currently at $2.5 million.

Perhaps the most exciting development for Starbucks lovers in the United States was an email sent to rewards members on Monday.

The email recaps Starbucks’ Merrython Starbucks for Life rewards program from the holiday season, and part of the recap referenced the Bearista Cups, which were used as prizes this year.

Starbucks said 16,909 Bearistas found new homes through Starbucks for Life.

“Didn’t snag one? Keep an eye out – your inbox might have a little surprise up its sleeve this week!” the coffee chain said in the rewards email.

Only time will tell if the U.S. will get another chance to purchase them.
