Medical examiner identifies Wilkinsburg shooting victim
The Allegheny County medical examiner has identified a person fatally shot in Wilkinsburg last week as 31-year-old John Jackson.
According to TribLive news partner WTAE, it remained unclear Monday night if anyone has been taken into custody.
Jackson was killed after being shot in the head Jan. 13 along South Avenue. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
3 pets killed in Armstrong County fire
Three pets were killed Monday night in a fire at a home in Armstrong County.
TribLive news partner WTAE reported a house on State Route 156 in South Bend Township was seriously damaged but no residents were hurt.
The state fire marshal will investigate the cause of the fire, WTAE reported.
State police seek man who fled traffic stop in Butler
Pennsylvania State Police are looking for a man who officials say fled Monday from an attempted traffic stop in Butler City.
Police described the driver as Black with dreadlocks, in black pants, a white shirt, and a black jacket with white stripes on the arms.
He was involved in a pursuit after troopers attempted to stop his vehicle for a traffic violation near North Monroe and East Brady streets. Police said he sped off and refused to stop.
Police said the vehicle involved is a white Hyundai Elantra with an Ohio registration.
The man was last seen on foot near Davis and East Butler roads, where he approached a home claiming to have run out of gas, police state.
Officials are urging residents in the area to keep their doors and vehicles locked and to contact the Butler State Police barracks at 724-284-8100 with any information.
