State police are investigating a video recorded at the Rostraver Walmart store that involves racist language.

The video, which was posted to Facebook, originally was reported to township police and has since been turned over to state police investigators, said Trooper Rocco Gagliardi.

The video shows a white man approach a Black woman in the grocery section of the store and, after confirming her name, ask her questions. The man, filming himself and the woman, uses racist language during the interaction. The woman is seen in the video walking away, requesting security and repeating “get away from me.”

The man then approaches another Black person grocery shopping and asks a question before the recording ends.

The woman in the video told Trib news partner WTAE that it is difficult for her to watch it. Augusta “Queenie” Goll said the incident happened before Christmas and the recording of it was posted to social media this month. She is a business owner in Charleroi.

“It’s not in my hand anymore,” she told the news outlet. “I just want to move on with my life. The damage is already done.”

State police are working with Rostraver police, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and district attorneys in counties in the area. No charges had been filed Tuesday.

“The investigation remains very active, with multiple interviews being conducted and multiple pieces of information and evidence being gathered,” Gagliardi said.
