State Police need help to track truck that fled Armstrong crash scene
Pennsylvania State Police are asking the public to help locate a truck that left the scene of a serious crash over the weekend.
State police on Tuesday said an ongoing investigation is probing a serious multi-vehicle crash that occurred just before 4 p.m. Sunday on State Route 422, east of Steffy Drive in Plum Creek Township in Armstrong County.
Preliminary findings show a vehicle traveling eastbound hit another vehicle, crossed into the opposing lane and struck another vehicle moving westbound head on, officials said. A fourth vehicle was also involved in the crash.
State police said the drivers sustained serious injuries and are hospitalized at UPMC Presbyterian in Pittsburgh.
Troopers asked the public to help locate a “vehicle of interest” that was in the immediate area at the time of the wreck. Witnesses described it as a white or silver pickup with a crew cab, possibly a Ford. It was seen driving eastbound before turning around and leaving shortly after the crash.
